New Test: Array Comparative Genomic Hybridization (aCGH), Prenatal

Effective September 1st, 2018 the Advanced Technology Laboratories – Cytogenetics Department is proud to announce a new test: Array Comparative Genomic Hybridization (aCGH), Prenatal.

The aCGH, Prenatal test is performed on amniotic fluid or chorionic villus samples and also requires a maternal peripheral blood sample to rule out maternal cell contamination. When ordered in conjunction with Chromosome Analysis on amniotic fluid, if chromosome analysis is negative testing will be automatically reflex to Microarray (order must be placed at time of collection).  If Chromosome Analysis is positive, cells will be frozen down for possible future testing (only if the Microarray order is placed).
